Our client is a Michigan based Design-Build Contractor, headquartered in Sterling Heights. They have a strong presence throughout the Midwest and Southeast and a significant backlog through 2026. They currently seek an experienced Superintendent, that would be open to Traveling throughout the Midwest and Southeast.
Their portfolio includes ground up and tenant buildout projects for clients in Big Box Retail, Industrial and Manufacturing. Projects range from $5M to $25M, they have upcoming projects in Michigan, Illinois, Texas, North Carolina and Ohio.
Functions, Duties, and Responsibilities
- Recognize and communicate to, and with, Project Manager any priorities, issues, or problems.
- Responsible for being on site prior to and after normal starting time to prepare for work to be completed.
- Ensure that proper safety and incident reporting procedures are followed.
- Coordinate, direct, and lead workers engaged in construction activities. Assign work to employees, using material and worker requirements information.
- Relate to the public and to customers in a professional, courteous, and respectful manner, appropriately responding to their complaints.
- Complete required paperwork and documentation (Daily Logs, Toolbox Talks, Timecards, Extra Work Authorizations, Safety Related Documentation, and Others as needed)
Qualifications
- 4 years of experience as a Lead Superintendent, previous experience as a Traveling Superintendent highly preferred
- Ability and willingness to travel on a weekly basis, Superintendents typically travel for 2-3 weeks at a time, depending on project location
- Project experience in light industrial, big box or manufacturing, preferred
- Experience with Procore, Microsoft Project, and Microsoft Excel Software is preferred.
- Knowledge of materials, methods and the tools involved in construction.
- Strong coordination, time management, active listening, oral and written expression and comprehension, critical thinking, and reasoning skills.
Benefit Information
- Competitive base salary, between $115,000 - $140,000, based on experience
- Travel Incentive, based on project location, up to $1,500/month
